Bleeding

unfolding, like so many petals
the vulnerability exposed
as the heart opens up

a myriad of emotion swells
memories of what has passed
tug like a lost child’s hand

longing for expression
but difficult and reserved
by shame of one’s guilt

wishing serenity – screaming in pain
the final tears of cleansing
have yet to fall

afraid of feeling
weak from wanting
I stand here bleeding
